Gema Solís Researcher

Amateur ornithologist, she has been collaborating on several field works since long time ago, specially related to birds biology and ringing. Recently, she has started in herpetologist studies.
She was the Collection Manager of the Fonoteca Zoológica from 2004 to July 2005, and continues collaborating in the spreading of the tasks that are being done here. Currently, she has a PhD fellowship with Dr. Jaime Bosch (MNCN) for the study of chytridiomycosis in amphibians, a fungal disease that is causing the decline of numerous populations of this animal group worldwide.
STUDIES:
Degree in Biology from the Complutense University of Madrid.
PhD courses in the programm “Conservation Biology” (Complutense University of Madrid).
D.E.A. project: "Interspecific differences in birds regarding to the moment of the beginning to sing at dawn", directed by Dr. Diego Gil.
